The certificate of a Sustainable Home must meet the criteria in the following categories:



  • Energy Efficiency



  • Sustainable use of natural resources


Energy Efficiency (HE Criteria) Limitation of Demand: The most efficientway to reduce polution and contamination if by reducing energy consumption. Energy saving features are fundamental to reducing carbon emissions and have the adavantage of saving money.


Natural Resources (US Criteria) Sustainable use of Natural Resources: A reduction in water usage and the use of only materials that originate fromsustainable producers. The use of recycled materials wherever possible as well as the recycling of the different resources used during construction and during the lifetime of the home.


The requirements for the Vivienda Verde depend on the climatic zone that the property is built in. There are 5 climatic zones in Spain (zone I is the coolest and V the warmest). Our Vivienda Verde is in a IV zone so all sustainable building criteria have been met for this specific area.
