HE11 - Sun factor of the windows

In standard homes, on those faces with most exposure to the Sun (south east, south west, east and west), the windows installed have a Sun factor of around 0.65. In the Vivienda Verde we use windows with a solar factor of 0.58.


The Sun factor is the degree of absorption of solar light by the glass, so the lower this factor, the less heat is trasmitted into the property, thus and important measure when in a warm climatic zone avoiding the use of air coniditioning.
